Extra Activities

Visits

Educational/Social local outings are organised during the course of the year. These visits usually relate to topics of interest to provide an extension to children’s learning and are usually done in small groups. Other major outings are organised, at least one a year. Parents/guardians and friends are invited to join in to make it a family time out.

Extra-curricular activities

Ballet and French are available. Please enquire at the Nursery’s office for details.

Festivals/Creative Talents and Professional Skills

A range of festivals are celebrated to encourage the awareness of the multicultural environment. Parents/guardians of children are encouraged to participate and share their skills with us. Parents, e.g have volunteered to assist in the preparation of Christmas dinner and parent in professions such as dentist/sculpturing have attended and carried out interesting sessions with the children.

During our cultural day children together with their parents and family attend dressed in cultural attire and share in a wide range of food from different cultures.

Sports day is usually fun! After the children have demonstrated their physical skills they enjoy watching the parents race.

The Montessori Month is another special time at the nursery. During this month events are organised for parents/guardians to aid more insight into the Montessori philosophy and its relation to the Early Years and Every Child Matters plus other fun activities that involve children and their family. At Archangels Montessori we believe that parental participation is invaluable.
